From 1 November this year, aged care providers and older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access a new suite of resources to support high-quality, culturally safe aged care. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) has launched an online First Nations Hub, developed in partnership with First Nations stakeholders and communities.

The Hub is a dedicated space for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their families, carers, providers, and workers. It offers practical, culturally informed resources, including:
Conversation guides for the aged care journey
Videos on aged care rights and culturally safe care
Editable workplace posters
Visual storyboards to support understanding of aged care rights
You’ll also find insights from Elders, information on how the Commission is supporting culturally appropriate care, and dedicated pages for:
Providers – Resources for those delivering care
Older people – Information for individuals and families
Workers – Tools to support culturally safe practice
Explore the First Nations Hub and join us in strengthening aged care outcomes for First Nations peoples.
