At Shark Park, sixteen volunteers sold raffle tickets and raised awareness of the work we do in the community. The support of these volunteers has enabled us to continue hosting fun family events and raising awareness about reconciliation.

Well before rugby league fans arrived, SSR volunteers were trained to use tablets to confidently sell raffle tickets digitally — even for the most technically challenged! Cronulla Sharks and also 50/50 Foundation staff were incredibly helpful so that volunteers had a really positive experience.

Then, prior to and during both games, volunteers roamed the full stadium, seating, marquee, corporate boxes and hospitality queues to encourage footy fans to buy a raffle ticket. Sometimes they were queuing to purchase a raffle ticket from our volunteers to have a chance to win big and to support our organisation! Volunteers were also asked details about the work of SSR and could scan the QR code on volunteer’s lanyards to learn more from visiting our website.

It was a day full of energy, teamwork, and community spirit. The Sharks’ hospitality made it seamless, our volunteers made it meaningful, and the supporters made it unforgettable. If you'd like to volunteer with SSR, you'd be very welcome! Please reply to this email.

And thanks to the 50/50 Foundation raffle, a lucky winner also took home $4,139.50. A beautiful sunny day was topped off with both the women’s and men’s Sharks teams getting a well-deserved win.

Committed to an ongoing partnership, SSR members have been invited to network with high profile Rugby League personalities at the Cronulla Sharks’ 48th Annual Grand Final Luncheon on Friday 3 October, 2025 12pm - 4pm at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters.
