About the event
This is an opportunity for us all to reflect on enduring impacts. You will hear stories about survivors and their families about the impact of separation from families and of the institutionalisation and servitude they experience. This day holds significant importance for reconciliation, as healing cannot occur without acknowledgment and genuine understanding.
National Sorry Day held on 26 May each year is officially the National Day of Healing. It coincides with the release of the "Bringing Them Home" report released on the 26th of May 1997. We encourage you to visit the Healing Foundation to learn more about the healing of our nation. To read the report please visit Human Rights Bringing Them Home Report. This year, we are holding our vigil on Sunday, the 24th of May.
