We celebrated a wonderful belated Reconciliation Week Picnic on Sunday. We always work to make reconciliation events relevant and real.
Our day of celebration was proudly supported by Sutherland Shire Council. The gathering was a great example of the positive impact made when individuals and organisations work together for a common goal of reconciliation.
A big thank you for the valued contribution of all, including those who shared their culture, and those who have given their time and energy. Importantly, thank you to everyone who came to be part of a community looking for connection and reconciliation.
We hope you enjoy the video that shows snippets of our day and of some of the wonderful performers including:
Djurawalingjang local dance group. Djurawalingjang means “We Grow Together”, thank you for planting seeds of growth in our community.
Torres Strait Islander dance group Mui Mui Cedar Gedlam who generously shared their culture through song, dance and dance workshop. All learning should be this full of joy.
In the words of Toby Cedar “Culture is the winner”.
Thank you again to everyone who attended, and to those who didn’t make it, we hope to see you next year.
